Gov. Phil Murphy will phone into a drive-in rally at Union County College to get the vote out for Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) on Sunday.
Malinowski faces a challenge from State Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean (R-Westfield), who is seeking to reclaim a seat Republicans held for nearly 40 years before Malinowski ousted Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton Township) in 2018.
Murphy planned to attend in-person before being made aware of a senior staffer’s positive COVID-19 test Wednesday afternoon. He is now quarantining and will continue to do so until Monday, at the earliest.
The two-and-a-half-hour-long event will also feature an appearance from Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-Plainfield).
Attendees will be asked to remain in their cars and wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines when not in their vehicles.
