The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) for re-election to a second term in New Jersey’s 5th district.

“Josh is a pragmatic, effective, bipartisan, thoughtful, independent leader,” said Rob Engstrom, senior vice president and national political director, U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “He has the ability to win, he also has the courage to govern and get big things done. He’s also well respected in both parties. As we’ve lost the middle in Congress, we have leaders like Josh Gottheimer who are willing to go and embrace the middle. That’s really the tradition in our country when you think about the big things that have gotten done, people who have the courage to reach across the aisle…That’s why, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, I’m proud to be back in New Jersey and endorse my friend, Josh Gottheimer.”

The business advocacy group praised Gottheimer for reaching across the aisle to build bi-partisan support for issues facing the Congress.
