Garden State Equality has endorsed Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) for re-election to a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“We are proud to throw our support behind Josh Gottheimer for Congress. He is an ally that we need to represent us in Washington, and he supports our values,” said Garden State Equality executive director Christian Fuscarino.
Gottheimer ousted seven-term Republican Rep. Scott Garrett in 2016 after Garrett refused to contribute to the National Republican Congressional Committee as long as they were supporting gay candidates.
“Your predecessor really did us wrong, Thomas Prol, a Garden State Equality board member, told Gottheimer. “Thank you for stepping up and really leading the charge for LGBT people.”
