Emily’s list promises Weber endorsement, if she wins Union

Emily’s List will endorse Linda Weber for Congress in the Democratic primary if she secures the Union County Democratic organization line in tomorrow’s vote, sources say.

Emily’s List executive Patrick Brown was calling the thirteen Democratic municipal chairs from the Union portion of the 7th district today with a commitment that the group will endorse Weber in the Democratic primary if she secures the Union line tomorrow.   That would mean a substantial boost in fundraising for Weber, who is one of five candidates in the race to challenge Republican Rep. Leonard Lance in the fall.

Weber has organization lines in Somerset and Essex, while Tom Malinowski has won them in Hunterdon, Warren and Morris.  Weber has said she would drop out of the race if she doesn’t have the lines in enough counties to assemble 50% of the primary vote, which makes tomorrow do-or-die for her congressional bid.
