Democrats fundraising off Van Drew’s bid to toss presidential election results

The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is fundraising off Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s (R-Dennis) bid to undermine the results of the presidential election.

“Jeff Van Drew is an opportunist who will do anything to score points with Trump’s radical conservative base,” the organization said in a fundraising email. “His latest stunt? Supporting Trump’s Texas Supreme Court case to overturn the election results — and he was listed as a representative from South Carolina.”

Van Drew as one of 126 House Republicans to sign onto a suit that baselessly asked the Supreme Court to invalidate results in six states won by President-elect Joe Biden. He and other Republicans filed amicus briefs asking the high court toss those results.

The Court refused.

“This latest stunt is in line with what we’ve come to expect from New Jersey Republicans, the majority of whom haven’t even acknowledged that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election,” The Democratic State Committee said.
