Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce (R-Parsippany) has endorsed Frank Pallotta for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th district.
DeCroce represents heavily-Republican West Milford, which is part of the district currently represented by two-term Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff).
Pallotta, a former investment banker, has the Republican organization line in Passaic County.
“We need strong leadership in America. We need people with vision who can build a direct path to help America overcome the pandemic, the economic collapse due to extended business lock-downs and the unrelenting unrest in our streets,” said DeCroce. “Instead, we have people like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, who are more interested in exploiting each of these crises for partisan gain.”
Pelosi, the House Speaker, endorsed Gottheimer on Friday.
“That is why Frank Pallotta must be sent to Washington, DeCroce said. “Like President Trump, Frank is a political outsider and an independent thinker. His finance background makes him uniquely suited to help rebuild our economy, as he did after the Great Recession when Frank helped to create an innovative program that saved many veterans and their families from foreclosure.”
Former Cresskill Councilman John McCann has the GOP organization line in Bergen. Pallotta has the backing of the Republican county chairman and all five freeholders in Sussex County.
Warren County has largely not taken sides in the race to pick an opponent for Gottheimer.
