Former Gov. Chris Christie is headlining a fundraiser for Tom Kean Jr.’s congressional campaign in Washington later this month.
The two men had a troubled relationship during the time Christie was governor and Kean was the Senate minority leader. Christie sought to dump Kean the day after his 2013 re-election, a move that led to a split between the governor and Kean’s father, former Gov. Thomas Kean.
Former Rep. Mike Ferguson is also hosting the event, along with Republican National Committeeman Bill Palatucci and Republican National Committeewoman Ginny Haines.
The event will be held at the offices of the Chartwell Strategy Group. Two partners of the firm are also co-hosting the Kean fundraiser: David Tamasi, who served as Trump Victory Finance Chairman; and Ozzie Palomo, who served as northeast finance chairman for Lindsay Graham’s 2016 presidential election.
Ticket prices are $500-per-person or $1,000 for political action committees. Co-hosts are being asked to contribute $1,000-per-person or $2,500 for PACs.
Kean challenging Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Rocky Hill) in New Jersey’s 7th district. He announced yesterday that he raised more than $500,000 in the first three months of his campaign.
