House candidate Rosemary Becchi endorsed Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean in his race against Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Rocky Hill) Friday.

“Tom Kean, Jr., has been a strong voice for us in Trenton.  Now is the time to have him fight for us in Congress,” Becchi said in a letter to her supporters. “Tom will work to keep our economy strong, fix our broken healthcare system and keep our families secure.”

Until Sunday, Becchi was running against Kean in the Republican primary, but she dropped her bid and is now challenging Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) in the 11th congressional district.

Both Republicans are now virtually unopposed in their respective primaries.

Kean endorsed Becchi’s bid on Tuesday.

“Throughout New Jersey, it is critical that we take back House seats that were lost to Democrats two years ago,” Becchi said in the letter. “This year, we have that chance. Join me in supporting Tom Kean Jr. for Congress.”
