Rep. Albio Sires (D-West New York) has reported raising $69,380 during the first three months of the year and has $182,040 cash-on-hand.
Sires received $1,000 from Fred Daibes, a Bergen County real estate developer who was indicted last year on charges that circumvented lending limits so a bank he ran could loan his business money.
The eight-term congressman spent $40,378 in the first quarter.
New Jersey’s 8th district is solidly Democratic. Sires was re-elected in 2018 with 78% of the vote against Republican John R. Muniz in a district that has 178,027 more Democrats than Republicans.
