Less than two weeks after he said his campaign missed a fundraising goal, Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton) is getting some financial aid from Toms River native Piper Perabo, an actress best known for her role in the TV show “Covert Affairs” and the film “Coyote Ugly.”
“I worked hard to help elect Andy because I wanted a representative who fights for all of us, not just a handful of wealthy donors,” Perabo said in a fundraising email sent by Kim’s campaign. “And since his election, Andy has delivered on his promises.”
Perabo was in New Jersey’s 3rd district last fall, knocking on doors in Toms River to boost Kim’s congressional campaign.
In an email sent to campaign supporters earlier this month, Kim said his campaign missed a mid-March fundraising goal, falling short by a little over $1,000 dollars.
Kim, a former White House staffer under President Barack Obama, unseated two-term Rep. Tom MacArthur in last year’s midterms. Republicans have marked his seat as a 2020 target.
