N.J. Chamber of Commerce Washington hotel might close permanently, report says

One of the state’s premier political events might become a victim of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, the site of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Congressional Dinner, closed in mid-March after COVID-19 significantly curtailed their business.

A local radio station, WJLA, reported the hotel management advised the Unite Here Local 25 that the hotel may not reopen.

If the 1,200-room hotel closes permanently, it would force the Chamber of Commerce to try to find an alternate local for their Walk to Washington trip next winter.

Tom Bracken, the chamber president, declined comment.

The Chamber of Commerce Washington event began in 1937.
