Newly-elected Somerset County Republican Chairman Tim Howes has named Nancy Ferreira as the new executive director of the county GOP organization.
Ferreira replaces Janet Linnus, who has held the post for 28 years.
Howes became county chairman last week following the retirement of five-term incumbent Al Gaburo.
“I would be a fool to think that I could catalog her contributions over those years, both as Executive Director, as the Montgomery Township GOP Chair and as treasurer to many campaigns,” Howes said in an email to Republican municipal chairs on Sunday evening. “While those 28 years have come to a close, it is my hope that Janet will continue to be a contributor to the cause. My door will always be open to her.”
Ferreira is the GOP municipal vice chair in Bernards Township and managed State Committeewoman Janice Fields’ bid for a township committee seat last year.
“Nancy has extensive business and political experience,” Howes said. “Nancy is talented, energetic and open. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with her.”
