Somerset GOP calls off county committee elections for June

By David Wildstein, March 23 2020 4:24 pm

Somerset County Republicans will postpone county committee elections this year and extend the terms of county committee members until 2021, according to county chairman Al Gaburo.

Elections had been scheduled for June 2, but most counties are pushing county committee races until next year in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The GOP has not yet decided if county committee candidates will run for a one-year term in 2021 and keep the party on their even-year election schedule by running again in 2022, or simply changing to off-year party elections.
