The Bergen County Republican Organization Policy Committee endorsed former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli for governor with 98% of the vote on Monday evening, the first step toward securing the organization line at their county nominating convention this month.
Ciattarelli defeated former Franklin Mayor and Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine by a vote of 55-1.
Perennial candidate Hirsh Singh, who finished second in the 2020 Republican U.S. Senate primary with 21% of the vote in Bergen, received zero votes at the policy committee level.
A fourth GOP gubernatorial candidate, Rev. Phil Rizzo, is not competing for the organization line in Bergen County.
