Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill and her new running mate, Dale Caldwell, campaigned together for the first time on Saturday with campaign stops in Bergen, Essex, Middlesex, and Burlington counties.
The two attended a canvass launch in Bloomfield, the Carteret Latin Festival, and the Burlington County Fair in Mansfield. They began the day at the Gotham City Diner in Fair Lawn.
The New Jersey Globe first reported on Thursday that Sherrill had picked Caldwell, the president of Centenary University and a former New Brunswick school board member and state government veteran, as the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor.
Jack Ciattarelli, the GOP nominee, selected Morris County Sheriff Jim Gannon as his running mate earlier this week.
