Hours after Brian Stack and Steve Fulop announced they would not support Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise for re-election in 2019, DeGise announced that North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco, Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis and Rep. Albio Sires (D-West New York) are backing him for re-election.

Five other Hudson County mayors are also backing DeGise: Al Santos of Kearny, James Fife of Harrison, Mike Gonnelli of Secaucus, Wayne Zitt of Guttenberg, and Joseph Smith of West New York.

Stack and Fulop were joined earlier today by Mayors Ravi Bhalla of Hoboken and Felix Roque of West New York, Assembly Majority Whip Raj Mukherji and Assemblywoman Annette Chapparo.

“Tom DeGise has been a true partner and friend to North Bergen and I am absolutely sure that he is the right choice to continue as County Executive,” said Sacco. “I plan to work as hard as I can along with our entire organization to ensure that Tom is re-elected.”

Sires, who is seeking re-election this year, praised DeGise.

“I have known Tom DeGise for a long time, and it’s clear that he is a person of unquestionable integrity and determination,” said + Sires. “I’m proud to support Tom and will do everything I can to ensure that he is re-elected.”
