Aladar Komjathy, a popular and influential player in New Jersey politics for more than 40 years, is the new chairman of the bistate Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

Komjathy is a partner at Komjathy & Kean, a Trenton lobbying and public affairs firm.  He replaces former Republican State Chairman Michael Lavery in the chairmanship post.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Komjathy was a top aide to State Sen. Francis J. McManimon (D-Hamilton) and the state Commissioner of Corrections before moving the lobbying industry.   He worked for a firm headed by former Assemblyman H. Donald Stewart (D-Woodbury) before opening his own lobbying shop.

Komjathy was a longtime Lambertville fire commissioner and served as the president of the Hunterdon County Board of Taxation.

Another commissioner, Yuki Moore Laurenti, was re-elected as treasurer.  She is a former Trenton school board member and served on the New Jersey Economic Development Commission.
