U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing) has endorsed Colleen Mahr for Union County Democratic Chair. It was first reported by InsiderNJ.
Watson Coleman represents the 12th district, which includes Plainfield, Fanwood, and part of Scotch Plains. Mahr is the Mayor of Fanwood and she backed Watson Coleman in 2014 in her primary for Rush Holt’s open house seat against State Sen. Linda Greenstein.
Mahr became acting county chair last month following the resignation of Jerry Green. She will face State Sen. Nicholas Scutari in a special election for county chairman next week.
