Rockaway accepts 7 of 8 challenged petitions

Rockaway Township Clerk Marcy Gianattasio has accepted seven of the eight challenged petitions for Republican County Committee.

The candidate who filed the challenges, Vincent La Iacona III, received an e-mail from the clerk at 5:55 AM telling him of her decision.

“I let Lauren Roberts from Morris County in an email last night know that after receiving advice from my Township Attorney as to the determination of the 8 Petitions you have challenged, I have rejected the petition of Mary Hollenbeck. I have spoken to Ms. Hollenbeck on the phone and made her aware of the rejection. The other 7 Petitions have been accepted by me again following the advice of my Township Attorney,” Gianattasio wrote.
