Novick opens new comedy show in New York

Former Hunterdon County Democratic Chairman Joey Novick will appear in a solo show called “Jewish…ish An Oy Story” next weekend in New York.

The show, written and performed by Novick, is about growing up Jewish in Brooklyn in  the 1960’s — “with actual personal stories and actual Jewish jokes, actually,” Novick says.

Novick served as a Flemington borough councilman from 1995 to 2006, and again from 2012-2015. He was the Hunterdon County Democratic Chair from 1996 to 2000, and ran Upendra Chivukula’s campaign for Congress in the 7th district in 2012.

Last year, he performed a show called “Comedian Elected to  Town Council in New Jersey,” the story of his election as councilman and his life in local New Jersey politics. Novick has appeared on MTV, Rascal’s Comedy Hour, and ‘One Life to Live’, and at Bananas Comedy Club, Dangerfield’s, the Comedy Cellar. He’s worked as an opening act for Robert Klein, Rosie O’Donnell, Chris Rock and Ray Romano.

The show will be formed at The Tank at 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan at 2 PM on Saturday, March 10.  Tickets are $5 — or $14,995 less than it would cost to hear Kellyanne Conway tonight at Tom MacArthur’s fundraiser.
