Key Scutari ally endorses Malinowski

Union County Freeholder takes sides in 7th district race

By David Wildstein, March 07 2018 9:56 am

Tom Malinowski has added another endorsement out of Union County: Freeholder Vice Chair Bette Jane Kowalski (D-Cranford) is backing the former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.

Kowalski is a strong political ally of  State Sen. Nicholas Scutari, who has remained neutral in the race for Rep. Leonard Lance’s seat.  He endorsement might be viewed as a signal of Scutari’s preference in an upcoming vote between Malinowski and Berkeley Heights banker Linda Weber.

“Tom has spent a lifetime in public service and has a demonstrated record of results. I have no doubt that he is the best candidate to take on Leonard Lance in the fall, and the candidate best prepared to be an effective leader for Union County in Congress from day one.” said Kowalski

  1. bj koalski is actually clueless and useless in any power struggle. I chuckle at using her in the article. Her one big recognition to union county and its constituents is her warning that bird baths need to be dumped in the summer to avoid breeding mosquitoes. Cranford, her home town doesnt even vote for her when she campaigns. Actually i stand corrected, last year when she was up for election, she received 2-3 votes more that her opposition in cranford and only because Hillary had the line and cranford went for hillary. Outside of that shes pretty useless to us county residents but good at enabling the corrupted system in union county, and this coming from a democrat.. I’m still chuckling about your use of “strong political ally”. Thanks you made my day.
