Freshman Rep. Josh Gottheimer has an astronomical $3,257,826 cash-on-hand after raising $732,305 in the first three months of 2018, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Since taking his seat in Congress in January 2015, Gottheimer has raised $3,592,384 and is carrying no campaign debt.

In the first quarter of 2018, Gottheimer has raised $575,295 in individual contributions and $140,045 from political action committees.  He spent $100,390 last quarter and $597,812 so far this cycle.

Gottheimer ousted Rep. Scott Garrett in 2016 by a 51%-47% margin in a district that Donald Trump won by one percentage point – a 4,089-vote plurality.  Gottheimer, a former Clinton White House speechwriter, spent nearly $4.7 million –plus an additional $5.2 million spent by outside groups — to beat Garrett, who spent $4.2 million.

The Wyckoff Democrat has no opposition in the Democratic primary.  He will face the winner of a heated Republican primary race between former Cresskill Councilman John McCann and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan.
