The mayors of New Jersey’s two largest cities will get together to raise money next week for Reed Gusciora’s campaign for mayor of Trenton.
Mayors Steve Fulop of Jersey City will host a fundraiser for Gusciora next Monday in Jersey City to help boost is coffers in advance of the June 12 runoff. Fulop has invited Newark Ras Baraka to join him.
Gusciora and businessman Paul Perez were the top two vote-getters in last week’s election and will now face off to succeed Eric Jackson.
Baraka was re-elected last week to a second term. He won with 77%, the largest percentage ever in a contested Newark mayoral election.
Fulop and Baraka bring considerable fundraising prowess to the Gusciora team.
Gusciora has represented Trenton in the State Assembly since 1995.
