North Plainfield Councilman Lawrence La Ronde will defeat Republican Francine Gargano to win the borough’s mayorship, the New Jersey Globe Projects.
He leads Gargano 3,870 to 1,415.
Incumbent Democratic Council President Skip Stabile and Councilmembers Aimee Corzo and Keiona Miller are on track to beat Republican challengers Robert Fisher, Christine Holman and Libni Reyes.
The victories mean Democrats will keep complete control of the Somerset County borough of about 21,000.
Republicans will have a chance to end that majority in 2022, when four Democrat-held council seats come up for a race.
