Linda Carter is taking nothing for granted, releasing a long list of endorsements today in her bid to succeed the late Jerry Green in the State Assembly.
Three Democratic county chairs – State Sen. Nicholas Scutari of Union, Kevin McCabe of Middlesex, and Peg Schaffer of Somerset – announced yesterday that they would back Carter, a Union County Freeholder, in the May special election convention. She also won the backing of Adrian Mapp, the Plainfield mayor and Democratic Municipal Chairman, and Assemblyman James Kennedy.
Carter’s latest endorsements include State Sen. Joe Cryan; Assemblyman Jamal Holley; Assemblywoman Annette Quijano; Mayors Ray Giacobbe of Rahway, Colleen Mahr of Fanwood, and Ronald DiMura of Middlesex Borough; Union County Sheriff Peter Corbelli; Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi; Union County Freeholders Sergio Granados, Bette Jane Kowalski, Al Mirabella, Christopher Hudak, Bruce Bergen, Mohamed Jalloh and Angela Garretson; Democratic Municipal Chairs John DelSordi of Scotch Plains, Kevin O’Brien of Rahway, Margaret McManus of Winfield, and Shalonda Tanner of Dunellen; and North Plainfield Democratic Municipal Vice Chair Janice Allen.
