Former Vice President Joe Biden has endorsed Andy Kim in his bid to unseat Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River).
“Andy’s family story embodies the American story. His parents grew up poor and worked their way to America for a better life. They got educated and gave back to their local communities,” Biden said. “Their son worked hard and decided to devote his life to service. From Afghanistan to the White House Situation Room, Andy tackled some of the most important and difficult national security challenges America faces. He served with integrity and hard work, arrived early, stayed late, and traveled to dangerous places to keep Americans safe at home. Andy Kim is a true public servant. We need more folks like Andy in Congress and that is why I am proud to endorse him.”
Kim says he worked closely with Biden while serving on the Obama White House staff.
The Biden endorsement comes two days after Democrats appear to have picked up a congressional seat in western Pennsylvania that President Trump won by 20 points. Biden campaigned for Conor Lamb, who won the seat in that special election.
