Bergen touts Army credentials in letter to GOP

Denville councilman seeking Carroll’s 25th district Assembly seat

In a letter to Republicans, 25th district Assembly candidate Brian Bergen is pushing his record as a West Point graduate and Army helicopter pilot.  It’s a subtle comparison to Democrat Mikie Sherrill, the Annapolis graduate and Navy helicopter pilot who carried Morris County in her successful bid for a congressional seat earlier this month.

Bergen, a Denville councilman, is seeking the open seat of Michael Patrick Carroll (R-Morris Township), who is not seeking re-election after twelve terms in the Assembly.

“In our last State Assembly race, our great party was only able to secure 52% of the total vote. The Democrats will come at us harder and with more money this time around, and I am the candidate that can carry the ball over the finish line for us all.
