There’s more bad news coming out of New Hampshire for former Gov. Chris Christie, who has been running in place since August and remains at 9% in the first-in-the-nation primary, a new Emerson College Polling/WHDH Poll shows.
Donald Trump continues to lead in New Hampshire with 49%, but Nikki Haley has jumped to second place with 18% — a fourteen-point bump since the summer.
“For the last year, we’ve been looking at a Ron DeSantis – Donald Trump race, and now it looks like Nikki Haley is the alternative instead of Ron DeSantis at this point,” said Spencer Kimball, the director of the Emerson poll.
In New Hampshire, Christie is followed by Ron DeSantis (7%), Vivek Ramaswamy (5%), and Doug Burgum (2%). Tim Scott, who dropped out of the race this week, was also at 2%.
Christie places fourth in a second-choice ballot, where DeSantis leads Haley, 22%-18%, with Ramaswamey at 15% and Christie at 10%.
He has staked his entire campaign around New Hampshire.
The poll was conducted between November 10-13 with a sample size of 917 and a margin of error of +/- 3.3%.
