President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have contracted COVID-19, the president announced on Twitter early Friday morning.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” Trump tweeted shortly at 12:54 a.m. “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Trump was in New Jersey on Thursday to attend a high-dollar fundraiser at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

It’s not clear whether the president is symptomatic, though at 74, he is within the age range where the virus is most deadly.

Top Trump advisor Hope Hicks tested positive Thursday. She traveled with Trump aboard Air Force One more than once week, including to a rally in Minnesota Wednesday evening.
