Booker won’t make December debate

Campaign manager: ‘We still see a path to victory’

Cory Booker is not expecting to be on the stage when Democratic presidential candidates debate next month, his campaign manager said.

“We still see a path to victory for the Democratic nomination that does not include the December debate,” said Addisu Demissie, the Booker manager.  “We’re going to keep building brick by brick.”

Booker met the Democratic National Committee donor threshold, but failed to reach 4% in national polls or 6% early state contests.

Demissie said that Booker will continue to campaign in early states between now and Christmas.

“We’ll be in Iowa as much as we can in January,” he said on a conference call with reporters today.

He said Booker will go up on TV in Iowa with a $500,000 television and digital buy.

Earlier today, Booker received the endorsement of Anderson, South Carolina Mayor Terence Roberts.
