Democratic Mayor John D’Amato won re-election unopposed, but Democrats in the Bloomingdale Borough Council were not so fortunate.

Democratic Councilman John Graziano narrowly came in first with 25.58% of the vote, while Republican Evelyn Schubert is immediately behind him at 25.46% for the second seat; Republican Daniel Hawkins is in third at 24.5%, and Democratic incumbent Richard Dellaripa is in last at 24.4%.

Councilmembers Carlos Aymat and Aleksandra Tasic, both Democrats, won re-election to the Haledon Borough Council, each receiving 32% of the vote; Republicans Robert Figueroa and Katherine Zavala finished well behind with 18% each.

Republican Councilman John Lane defeated Democrat Joseph Wojtecki 56-44% to succeed fellow Republican Richard Goldberg as mayor, thirteen years after Wojtecki lost to Goldberg for the same post.

Republican Councilmembers Dominic Mele and Bruce Bennett, alongside fellow Republican Anna Marie Sasso, simultaneously won three seats on the Hawthorne Borough Council with 19% of the vote each over three Democratic challengers.

North Haledon

Councilmembers Donna Puglisi, George Pomianek, and Vince Parmese, all Republicans, won re-election to the North Haledon Borough Council unopposed, Parmese for the remainder of an unexpired term.

Pompton Lakes

Prospect Park

Democratic Councilmembers Esther Perez and Alaa Matari won re-election to the Prospect Park Borough Council 36-33-16-15% over Republicans Maria Anderson and Thomas Magura; fellow Democratic Councilman Mohammed Hussain won the remainder of an unexpired council term unopposed.

Democrats faced a wipeout on the Ringwood Borough Council: Democratic Councilmembers Kathleen O’Keefe and Rob Ferretti, alongside fellow Democrat Jessica Kitzman, lost to Republicans Stephanie Baumgartner, Stephanie Forest, and Sean Noonan. Each Republican received around 19% of the vote, well ahead of each Democrat’s 14%.

Republican Councilman Anthony Picarelli and fellow Republican Patrick Fierro won two seats on the Totowa Borough Council unopposed.

Councilmembers Thomas Balunis and Bridget Pasznik, both Republicans, won re-election to the Wanaque Borough Council 29-28-22-21% over Democrats Matthew Palmieri and Henry Mendoza.

West Milford

Republican Councilwomen Marilyn Lichtenberg and Ada Erik defeated lone Democrat Wilson Santos 42-40-18%.

Woodland Park

Councilmembers Tina Gatti, Tracy Kallert, and Vincent DeCesare, all Democrats, won re-election unopposed to the Woodland Park Borough Council.

Republican Mayor Christopher Vergano won re-election over Democrat Arlene Sullivan 71-29%, while a trio of his fellow Republicans – Councilwoman Jill Sasso, Councilman David Varano, and newcomer Jason DeStefano – swept three seats on the Wayne Township Council, each receiving around 21% of the vote against their three Democratic opponents.
