Doug Steinhardt was re-elected to another term as Warren County Republican chairman today without opposition.
Steinhardt, a state senator from the 23rd legislative district and a former Lopatcong mayor, became county chairman in 2004 after Walter Orcutt declined to seek re-election.
Also re-elected were vice chair Nancy Brown, treasurer Lori Ciesla, and secretary Jodee Inscho.
State Committeewoman Emily Santini was re-elected, and Douglas Steinhardt, Jr., a 22-year-old county committee member from Lopatcong, was elected State Committeeman. He succeeds County Commissioner Jason Sarnoski, who declined to seek re-election.
“Emily and Douglas represent the future of the Republican Party – twenty-somethings who want to get involved in their community and political party and are gravitating toward the more conservative and common-sense policies of Republicans in New Jersey and nationally,” the county chairman stated.
Steinhardt served as Republican state chairman from 2018 to 2020.
After 21 years as county chairman, Steinhardt is the second-longest-serving GOP county chairman in the State behind Jose Arango of Hudson; Arango served as county chair in the 1990s, left for a few years, and returned in 2002. George Gilmore of Ocean became county chairman in 1996, left in 2019, and returned in 2022.
The dean of the county chairs in New Jersey is John Currie, who has been the Passaic County Democratic chairman since 1990.
