Howell Deputy Mayor Evelyn O’Donnell has secured a slim lead over Democratic challenger Andre de Garmeaux.

The incumbent leads Garmeaux by 177 votes, 50.3%-49.7%. On Saturday, the standings were reversed, and Garmeaux led by six-tenths of a point.

Democratic Mayor Theresa Berger still holds a solid lead over challenger Suzanne Brennan. She’s up over her opponent by 2,291 votes, 54%-46%.

It’s not clear how many outstanding votes remain in Howell. Countywide, Monmouth election officials have counted roughly 94% of the mail-in ballots received by election night. The county won’t start counting provisional ballots until tomorrow, at the earliest.
