David Merwin defeated Mark Razzoli in the Democratic primary for mayor of Old Bridge.
Merwin, a councilman, won by 786 votes, a 67%-33% margin.
He will now face incumbent Owen Henry in the November general election.
Henry faced John Milner in the Republican primary and won with 87% of the vote.
In the race for township council, Merwin’s three running mates – June Dungee, Ray Aribol and Dennis Maher – also won.
They will face Republicans Anita Greenberg-Belli, Debbie Walker and Mary Rita Sohor.
