Democratic Councilman Jay Bryant won re-election to the Manasquan Borough Council, while Republican Michael Long holds a three-vote lead over Democratic Councilwoman Sheila Vidreiro for the second seat, with late mail-in ballots still to be counted.
Bryant received 1,592 votes. Long received 1,467, Vidreiro received 1,464 and Republican Maureen Anderson received 1,441.
Anderson is a soccer instructor, and Long is a program manager at Naval Air Systems Command.
If Long’s lead holds, Republicans would pick up a council seat while the mayor’s office remains Democratic.
Manasquan leans Republican in federal and statewide elections. Trump carried the borough by 14 points in 2024, while Ciattarelli won it by 15 points in 2025.
