Linden Councilwoman Lisa Ormon was fined $800 for failing to file campaign finance reports with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.

The commission charged Ormon with four counts of election law violations after alleging that she didn’t file the legally required disclosures for her 2015 primary and general campaigns.

Ormon later submitted the reports and ELEC agreed to accept late her late filing.  She did not contest the charges against her after failing to respond to several notices from the agency that necessitated the Union County sheriff serving her with a complaint in 2017.

Violations of campaign finance laws are not out of the ordinary in Linden.

Ormon’s brother, Mayor Derek Armstead, was fined $8,942 for failing to report campaign contributions in his 2008 and 2011 municipal campaigns.
