Lavallette Mayor Walter LaCicero, a longtime critic of former Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore, has endorsed Dan Rodrick for mayor of Toms River in tomorrow’s GOP primary election.

“For nearly fifteen years, as the Mayor of Lavallette, I have led the fight against Republican machine-style politics in Ocean County,” LaCicero said.  “Dan Roderick and his team are beholden to no party bosses or special interests. A vote for The Rodrick Team is a vote to restore true Conservative Values in our Republican Party.”

Gilmore picked former Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato to run for mayor in March, before his conviction on tax-related charges led to his resignation.   He face a primary challenge from four-term Councilman Mo Hill an Rodrick, who was elected to the council in 2017.

LaCicero is also backing Rodrick’s running mates for council: Ken Londregan, George Lobman, and Justin Lamb, a Lavallette police sergeant.

“The Rodrick Team’s commitment to stop overdevelopment, cut wasteful spending, and lower taxes make them the right choice for Toms River,” LaCicero said.

  1. Rodrick went door to door representing himself as a Democratic then when told he would not be the leader of the party in ocean county , after being elected councilman he switched back to the the Republican Party . This person can not be trusted and has had demonstrated that he only serves his own best interest and not the the interest of the people of Toms River.
