Latino group backs Juliano for Bergen Dem chairman

The Latino-American Democratic Association has endorsed Paul Juliano for Bergen County Democratic chairman.

Juliano, the Fairview public works director, is the clear front-runner for the post once Louis Stellato departs to become a commissioner of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition.

“Mr. Juliano has been a longtime supporter of LADA and its members throughout the years. It is our hope that he will continue to move our party forward while being inclusive of underrepresented communities to grow an even stronger Democratic Party,” the association said in a statement issued this morning.

On Wednesday night, Mahwah Democratic municipal chairman Todd Sherer announced that he would not seek the post and was endorsing Juliano.

The date of a special election to replace Stellato is undermined.  That won’t be set until the New Jersey Senate votes to confirm Stellato to his new post.
