Three incumbents on the Keansburg Township Council defeated a write-in campaign to win re-election Tuesday.

Mayor George Hoff, Deputy Mayor Thomas Foley and Councilman Sean Tonne will each serve another four-year term on the five-member board.

Hoff was the race’s top vote-getter, his 656 votes narrowly beating Foley’s 654. Tonne had 610 ballots cast in his name.

The write-in campaign drew just 219 votes.

The Monmouth County borough has 5,644 registered voters.

Each of them received a mail-in ballot for Tuesday’s election. Elections officials will accept mail-in ballots until Thursday as long as they are postmarked for today.
