U.S. Senator Cory Booker endorsed Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr for re-election.
“Being the mayor of an urban city is challenging even in the best of times,” said Booker. “Mayor Marty Small took office at a time of urgent crisis in Atlantic City, then admirably led his city through the unprecedented challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. He has cut taxes and spending, expanded city services, and by restoring confidence in city government, is attracting the investments that will improve the lives and create economic opportunity for Atlantic City residents.”
Small faces former Assemblyman Thomas Foley, an unabashed supporter of former President Donald Trump, in the June 8 Democratic primary.
Booker said that Small and his slate of city council candidates “will keep Atlantic City moving forward.”
Gov. Phil Murphy endorsed Small last week.
