By David Wildstein, November 07 2018 12:05 pm

Republicans lost their two seats on the Springfield Township Committee.

Democrats Chris Weber (3,478) and Alex Keiser (3,324) defeated incumbent Maria Vassallo (2.448) and her running mate, former mayor Jerry Fernandez (2,513).

Weber is a retired Newark police detective, and Keiser is the chief of staff to Assemblyman John McKeon (D-West Orange).

Fernandez replaced Diane Stampoulos, who lost party support for re-election.
