Democrats have retained their 7-0 majority on the Passaic County Board of Commissioners, with Michael Ramaglia and Christina Schratz defeating Republicans Nicolino Gallo and Danilo Ramirez by roughly 20,000 votes in a contest for two open seats.
Ramaglia is a former Republican councilman in West Milford, and Schratz is a school board member in Passaic. Gallo is a former county commissioner who lost his bid for a second term last year, and Ramirez is a school board member in Hawthorne.
Two longtime Democrats were not on the ballot: Pat Lepore decided to retire, and Terry Duffy lost party support and chose not to run in the Democratic primary.
