East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen will defeat Republican challenger Jesal Amin to win re-election, the New Jersey Globe projects.
The Democrat’s running mates, Councilmen Sterley Stanley and Michael Spadafino will also win re-election in the solidly Democratic Middlesex County Town of about 47,500.
They faced challenges from Republicans Olga Miller and Suzanne Blum.
Democrats there have complete control over the town’s government, though Republicans there had a majority as recently as 2017. That year, Councilman James Wendell defected from the Republican party, giving Democrats the majority.
He won re-election in 2018 as a Democrat.
