The husband of Camden Councilwoman Felisha Reyes-Morton faces assault and weapons charges for allegedly beating a city resident with a microphone during an Oct. 10 closed doors event in the city.
Bryan Morton, a Camden Democratic committeeman who is the director of Parents for Great Camden Schools, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful person, The Courier Post reported.
Morton, who is also president of the North Camden Youth Little League, allegedly attacked Rashan Prailow, a 2018 Camden Council candidate, with a microphone after Prailow denounced Morton for a speech he gave at the event.
New Jersey Working Families has called for Morton and Reyes-Morton to resign from their positions over the incident.
