Hunterdon County Democrats voted to give U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) the organization line in the June 5 primary election.

The nominations were done by acclamation.

Booker faces a primary challenge from Lawrence Hamm, a former Newark school board member and longtime progressive activist who chairs Bernie Sanders’ New Jersey presidential campaign.

Hamm did not seek organization support in Hunterdon County.

Democrats selected Patrick Heller, an attorney who is an officer of the Hunterdon County Bar Association, to run for freeholder.

Heller will challenge Republican incumbent Shaun Van Doren.
