Ewing Township Democrats elected their first new municipal chair since 2004, with Carl Benedetti, Sr. winning the post without opposition at a reorganization meeting on Wednesday night.

Benedetti replaced Robert Dorio, who retired after holding the post for sixteen years.

“The Ewing Democratic Committee will continue to be an inclusive organization, with strong focus on recruiting young, diverse talent to be our future Democratic leaders,” Benedetti said. “We look forward to tremendous success, up and down the ticket, from re-electing our 3 council members, to electing Joe Biden as President, in November.”

Benedetti is the father of Carl Benedetti, Jr., a Ewing school board member and rising star in local politics.
