Arjumand gets endorsement from hometown municipal chair

The Teaneck Democratic municipal chair has endorsed Shahanaz Arjumand for Bergen County freeholder.

Arjumand and Ridgewood mayor Ramon Hache are vying for the seat of David Ganz, who is not seeking re-election to a seventh term on the Bergen County Board of Freeholders.

Incumbent Joan Voss is seeking re-election.  She must beat both Arjumand and Hache to secure party support for her own re-election.

“We are excited that one of our own-outstanding member, Shahanaz Arjumand, has entered the freeholders race, demonstrating that our party truly embodies its Democratic values of fairness, transparency and most importantly equal opportunity for all,” Alexandra Soriano-Taveras, the municipal chair.

Teaneck has the second-largest delegation to the March convention, which includes Democratic county committee members from Bergen County’s seventy municipalities.
