Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick’s promise to discredit victims of sexual assault to help clients avoid a conviction was called “simply repulsive” by his Democratic opponents, Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman.

“We are disgusted and appalled at the revelation that this is how Jon Bramnick thinks that this is how to market his services to accused rapists,” said Mandelblatt and Gunderman in a statement issued by their campaign.

The website of the law firm headed by Bramnick says, “we will investigate your case and seek to discredit your accuser.”

“It goes without saying that the right thing to do is to believe women who take the incredibly difficult step to speak out against their abusers,” Mandelblatt and Gunderman said. “The obvious pride Jon takes in working to discredit victims is shocking and has no place in a modern society.”

Mandelblatt and Gunderman called on Bramnick to immediately remove “this awful language” from his firm’s website, jonbramnick.com.
