State Sen. Joe Vitale said the state’s vape ban was still on the docket for the lame duck session.
“We have two voting sessions between now and the time the new session starts,” Vitale said. “I’m pretty confident we’re going to get that done.”
The Senate Health, Human and Senior Services Committee, which Vitale chairs, on Thursday held a mammoth hearing focused mainly on the removal of a religious vaccination exemption.
That meeting drew hundreds of anti-vaxx protestors and dragged on for hours.
While the committee considered other bills, those largely went through without any discussion to make way for the hours of testimony that followed.
The vape ban is likely to draw similar levels of opposition from industry figures, who have claimed the measure will drive them out of business.
