Prosperity Rising NJ, a Democratic super PAC allied with Senate President Nicholas Scutari, released two new ads in the 11th which focus on abortion and called their opponents extremists.
The first ad, “Slimy Politicians,” features images of Republican State Senate candidate Steve Dnistrian, and Assemblywomen Marilyn Piperno (R-Colts Neck) and Kim Eulner (R-Shrewsbury) overlapping with jellyfish, while calling them extreme on abortion. The Democratic candidates – State Sen. Vin Gopal (D-Long Branch), and Assembly candidates Dr. Margie Donlon and Luanne Peterpaul – are not featured.
Script: “Marilyn Piperno and Kim Eulner, still slimy politicians. And now they’re joined by Steve Dnistrian and other Extremists in Trenton who want to ban abortion. Piperno, Eulner, and Dnistrian are too slimy, too extreme for us.”
The second ad, “Abortion Ban,” connects the Republican candidates to abortion bans across the country as well as proposed anti-abortion legislation in New Jersey. To this, the ad calls Dnistrian, Piperno, and Eulner extreme. The Democrats running are not featured at all in the ad.
Script: “When extremist Republicans control legislatures, women lose their rights. Here extremist Steven Dnistrian, Marilyn Piperno, and Kim Eulner will join with other extremists in Trenton who want to ban most abortions, punish doctors. Piperno and Eulner are so extreme they voted against funding a local domestic violence shelter and hid from a vote to keep guns out of schools and daycares. We must stop Steve Dnistrian, Marilyn Piperno and Kim Eulner, because they are just too extreme.”
The 11th is one of this year’s most competitive districts. Democrats there have already released several ads, largely focusing on abortion access. Republicans last week released an ad that highlighted crime, education, and energy.
Dnistrian has declined to state his position on abortion.
